Started a sock on DPNs

Hey I've finished both cardi sets I was doing and started a sock yesterday - I'm thrilled and amazed at how fast it's growing :) the pattern is really easy :
2.5 dpns
Sock yarn
Stitch marker
Cast on 60 stitches as loosely as you can
Divide the stitches between 3 needles
That's 20 stitches per needle
Start the next row by joining the round as you knit into the first stitch you cast on and put in a stitch marker
Rib: 2k 2p for 16 rows
Cuff: rounds 17 to 73 K every row and this will make stocking stitch
And that's as far as I've got to as I suss more I'll post it :)

loved knitting these

Just finished knitting these for two lovely friends. The blue is newborn size, the pink is 6 months. The Baby Crofter wool I used is so soft and scrummy to knit with.
Sadly my camera is broken and the flash on my phone isn't too great but it'll give you an idea.

Fwd: 2 sleeves at the same time

Just sharing a quickie here. When I'm knitting arms I'm knitting both at the same time on a circular needle. To make it easier to spot which end to start with after a break in knitting, at the end of the last row just before the last stitch I pop a stitch marker so that I can see at a glance which row to start with next time :-)
I love these little stitch markers they're so pretty to use too :-)

BUSY SHAWL MAKING

I've been making another shawl for a friend with a brand new baby girl :-) this time I've done a wider border and made the shawl into a square so that it can be folded into a triengle. I'm thrilled with it.

and now I am making a cardigan for another friend. I'm using Sirdar snuggly baby crofter and pattern 1929

Crochet baby shawl and chunky wrap.

I'm in the process of making another pink baby shawl for my friends baby who is due on my birthday!! Crochet in baby pink 4ply with a 3.50mm hook. The pattern is from The Crochet Bible which is well worth a buy as it has some lovely projects in it and all the stitches you could wish to know.

I've also started making a shawl for myself, well more of a wrap I guess. I'm using chunky wool and a 9.00mm hook to do Granite Stitch, I just love working with this soft purple wool and my lovely purple shiny hook, easily pleased !

Nail Art

I've been looking at nail art on you tube and just had to share this water marbling nail art - it really is fantastic , aiming to grow my nails longer so that i can have a go.
The lady who does this video also has a blog with lots of manicure art links.
